Bread of Hope updates!

So, as many of you know Hebert and I help work for an organization called Bread of Hope.  This past June we had a team from Alpharetta, Georgia stay and work with us in Maracaibo for a week.  It was an awesome group, from my experience its the team that we have had that worked the hardest.  All week long they worked on various projects.  Construction for a couple of days, street carnivals most days, and several days of the feeding ministry, where we pass out bags of groceries to families in need.  One of my favorite days was when we went to the city dump and afterward we served hot meals in the community where we had the street carnival.  It was my first time being part of a team that served hot meals near the dump and it was an aweome experience.  We spent the morning having a street carnival aka playing soccer, baseball, blowing bubbles, coloring, making bracelets, and painting nails for a group of children and some adults who lived nearby.  My future brother-in-law, a doctor, and my sister-in-law, a nurse, were able to come along.  I was blessed to share that experience with them, because they were able to tell me and show me signs of malnutrition and health problems that the kids whom we were playing with had.  That one, hot meal that we provided for them was truly a necessity many of those kids hadn't had a decent meal in days, maybe more. Bread of Hope is now working with another church, Renacer en Cristo, they live and work in a community, that I consider to be a lot worse than the city dump.  Many of the people who live in this area are indigenous, Guajiros, many of them are marginalized and close themselves off to those who live in the city.  Renacer en Cristo wants to build a bridge between those two cultures and they hope to do that by the church and  by providing for their needs.  We are currently working on a project to provide hot meals twice a week in this community as well as bible studies.  So, please be praying for the church and the ministry as they start this project.  I'm also REALLY excited about starting bible studies to go along with the feedings.  In October we are getting training from Precept Ministries it focuses on inductive bible studies.  Its pretty much revolutionized how I read and study the bible, and if you don't know what an inductive bible study is, I will write more about that at a later time.  God has been beyond unbelievable and we're really excited to see the ways that he is moving and working in Maracaibo. 

This is Pastor Jose Cera from Renacer en Cristo.  He is preaching in the community where we hope to deliver the hot meals.  As you can see there are a lot of children and families who live in the area.
